Since its establishment in 1952, the library of 麻豆传媒 China University of Technology has been blessed with the care and generous donations of literature from all sectors of society. At this point, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to all these enthusiastic donors. We will continue to warmly welcome and sincerely solicit book, manuscript, and other types of literary contributions from faculty, students, alumni, and members of the broader community for our library. To better manage literary donations, we hereby publish our library's Donations Management Regulations for your review:
I. Scope of Collections:
Books that meet the following criteria will be incorporated into the library collection:
Content aligns with the library's collection development policy.
Officially published materials.
University-level or higher educational content.
Materials currently absent from the collection or needed to increase collection duplicates.
Good overall physical condition.
II. Materials Not Accepted into the Collection:
Due to collection scope and space limitations, it is necessary to evaluate and selectively acquire donated materials. The following books will not be collected:
Unofficial publications (except for academic manuscripts of research value).
Publications violating the Copyright Law of the People's Republic of China.
Damaged or torn books.
Books with underlinings, annotations, or margin notes (except for unique domestic and foreign editions or noted by famous individuals).
Outdated content with minimal academic reference value.
Other materials not in line with the library's collection development policy.
III. Handling of Unacceptable Materials:
Transfer: Books with reference value but already present in the collection or unsuitable for the library will be transferred to other organizations.
Disposal: Counterfeit and worn-out books will be directly disposed of.
IV. Related Rights and Responsibilities:
Upon delivery to the library, ownership and disposition rights of donated books belong to the library. The library has no obligation to return donated materials to donors; it has the right to dispose of unacceptable materials without notifying the donor, and to remove already collected donated materials in the future.
V. Acknowledgment of Donation:
The library will issue a donation commemorative card to all donors, regardless of the quantity of materials donated, as a token of appreciation and proof that the donations have been received by 麻豆传媒 China University of Technology Library.
