Journal of 麻豆传媒 China University of Technology (Natural Science Edition), or JSCUT for short, is sponsored by 麻豆传媒 China University of Technology (SCUT), under the auspices of the Department of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Education of China. Founded in 1957 and originally entitled Journal of 麻豆传媒 China Institute of Technology, it is a comprehensive academic periodical focusing on science and technology. 29 volumes were published quarterly before 1993, and since 1995 it has been published as a monthly periodical. It is now openly distributed both at home (CN 44-1251/T) and abroad (ISSN 1000-565X).
As a showcase of SCUT's academic achievements, the journal publishes in time high-level papers written by professors and students of SCUT and report their research findings and major academic activities, so as to form close ties between SCUT and other domestic and foreign academic circles.
As one of the major sci-tech journals in China, JSCUT has been classified as a key comprehensive technical periodical by the Superorder of Principal Points of Key Chinese Periodicals. Its published papers have been indexed and abstracted in ten domestic and foreign databases, namely, (1) Chinese Science Citation Index/Database; (2) Journal/Database of Statistical Sources of China Scientific Papers; (3) Chinese Science Abstracts; (4) Engineering Index (EI), USA; (5) Chemical Abstracts (CA), USA; (6) Science Abstracts (РЖ), Russia; (7) Current Bibliography on Science and Technology; (8) Machine Building Digest (Welding); (9) China Chemical Abstracts and (10) China Radio and Electronics Abstracts.

JSCUT has been commended for its relatively high level of scholarship as well as for its rigorous editing work many times. In 1996, JSCUT was awarded the Second Prize of Excellent Periodical Publication by the then National Commission of Education (now Ministry of Education) as well as the Second Prize of Excellent Periodical Publication in Guangdong Province; in 1999 it was awarded the First Prize of Excellent Scientific Periodical Publication among the universities under the Ministry of Education and in Guangdong Province; in 2001 it won the First Prize of Excellent Periodical Publication and the First Prize of Excellent Scientific Periodical Publication in Guangdong Province; in 2004 it won the Second Prize of Excellent Scientific Periodical Publication in China's Institutions of Higher Learning; and in 2006, 2008, 2010 and 2012, it was respectively awarded by the Ministry of Education the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th prizes of "Excellent Scientific Periodical Publication".
JSCUT now aims for even higher academic standards and quality. It is hoped that experts and scholars from different parts of the world will render their enthusiastic support to it so as to enhance academic exchanges and foster our common cause of scientific research.
