State Key Laboratory of Pulp and Paper Engineering at the 麻豆传媒 China University of Technology is the only State Key Laboratory in the field of Light industry and papermaking in China, approved in 1995 by the State Ministry of Science and Technology.
The laboratory was built on the basis of one national first class disciplines “Light Industry Technology and Engineering” and two national second class disciplines“Pulp and Paper Engineering” and “Chemical Engineering” and several other related subjects.
The laboratory has 73 full-time experts including one academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, 44 professors.
Based on the separation, transformation and utilization of the plant fibrous resources, the major research areas in this laboratory include 1) biomass refinery, pulping and pollution control technologies; 2) papermaking and paper-based functional material technologies; 3) process equipment and intelligent management; and 4) plant-derived bio-based chemical and nanomaterial preparation technologies.
