2022-03-26

Title: A plasticity constitutive model for concrete under multiaxial compression
Speaker: Assistant Professor Zheng Botong (The Hong Kong Polytechnic University)
Time: April 1, 9:00—11:00
Online meeting venue: Tencent meeting (Room ID: 875-355-309)

[Abstract]
Conventional plasticity models for concrete have been developed to reflect the experimental behavior under active stresses, and an improvement to such models is to embed an accurate 2D analytical model for passively-confined concrete into a 3D plasticity model. However, such an improved model is still inaccurate for concrete under substantially non-uniform passive confinement. The speaker and his coworker have developed a new plasticity constitutive model for concrete, which is expected to be able to accurately predict the 3D stress-strain behavior of concrete under non-uniform passive confinement, as well as uniform-passive and -active confinement. The details of the model and some of its applications will be introduced in this talk.
