[Abstract]

Reducing global warming potential causing emissions in all sectors of the economy is critical to achieve state and national net zero emission goals. Net zero goals need to be met by all sectors of the economy, and while pavement is not the economic sector with the largest emissions, it is an important contributor. The University of California Pavement Research Center (UCPRC) is supporting the State of California and the Federal Highway Administration in various pathways towards net zero, which will be shown. The UCPRC has for the last 15 years been working with these sponsors to develop a vision, strategies, and a comprehensive set of web-based tools and supporting guidance and standards to support these efforts in each stage of the roadway project delivery process, many of which are already put into practice. This presentation will outline the goals, the strategy, the tools and the process of their development, and recent, current and upcoming implementation activities.
