SCUT is looking forward to enlarging cooperation with partners in the US, after a delegation was sent to the US and paid visits to a few top universities from May 8 to 11.

The delegation was led by Qiu Xueqing, Vice President of SCUT. Destinations of the visit were the University of Missouri (Mizzou), the University of California, Riverside (UCR), the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB).

SCUT and Mizzou reached an agreement to expand the current student exchange programs to all fields of engineering, and Mizzou is expected to admit more SCUT’s students in related areas to study in its School of Journalism.

At UCR, multiple issues were discussed, including establishing partnership with UCR and especially its College of Engineering, developing joint laboratory research projects, and signing a few memos of cooperation.

Then at UCSB, the two universities agreed to intensify cooperation in materials science, chemical engineering, computer science, and marine science, while multiple student programs were set to be promoted, which will lay a solid foundation for further cooperation.
