SCUT has been approved by the Ministry of Education as a pilot institution for providing holders of the Chinese Government Scholarship (CGS) with pre-college education.
The CGS is awarded by the Chinese Scholarship Council to international students who study in listed Chinese universities.
SCUT was one of the seven institutions of higher learning that were recently granted the qualification of conducting experimental preparatory education for CGS holders.
The project is scheduled to start in this September.
SCUT is also among the first Chinese universities that were designated by the Ministry of Education as demonstration bases and certified universities for international student education.
